North Dakota’s laws state that all government records and meetings must be open to the public unless otherwise authorized by a specific law. The basic laws are found in North Dakota Century Code, beginning at §44-04-17.1. The public has the right to know how government functions are performed and how public funds are spent.

The Stutsman County Transparency Portal includes information for both the County’s Budget as well as Expenditures. Its purpose is to convey a clear and precise picture as to how tax dollars are both budgeted and spent.

For County Board agendas, minutes, audio and video recordings please visit https://www.stutsmancounty.gov/government/county-commission/contact-the-commissioners/ and under the ‘Department Pages’ widget, click on the year of your choosing or click ‘Meeting Minutes Archive‘ for records going back to 2007.

For all other record requests, you can contact the Auditor’s Office at auditor@stutsmancounty.gov or by phone at (701) 252-9035. If you wish to contact another County Department you can do so by using the form located on our ‘Reach Us‘ page.
