Road / Highway Department
The Highway Department is in charge of building, maintaining, graveling, signs, culverts, bridges and snow removal on county roads. They are also hired by townships around the county to perform services at the request of the township supervisors.
The department has 15 full time and 11 seasonal employees. They have 8 motor grader operators stationed in districts throughout the county. The remainder of the employees work out of the main office located at 1508 4th St NW, Jamestown.
The County Highway Superintendent is Mike Zimmerman who has been employed with the County for 26 years. He manages, organizes and oversees all operations at the highway department.
