The Stutsman County Treasurer's Office has the major function of collecting real estate and mobile home property taxes. The Treasurer is responsible for keeping track of all property taxes and tax payments and for mailing out tax statements and delinquent notices. Multiple alternative payment options are available including auto bank withdrawals (no fee), credit card (2.45% fee, minimum of $3.00) and e-checks ($1.50 fee).
Tax records are public information and this office receives numerous requests from the public for tax information such as values, tax history, taxes due, specials and property ownership. The Treasurer provides tax statements and lists to all escrow companies and others as requested. Tax information is also available online at http://www.ndpropertytax.com.
In addition to tax collection, the Treasurer's Office receives and records revenues from all sources, including all the county departments, and state and federal funds. The Treasurer must record and balance the accounts daily. The Treasurer also apportions and gives each county fund and government subdivision its portion collected, on a monthly basis.
An important duty of the Treasurer is banking and investing and making the best use of county funds by investing them wisely to receive the best rate of return while keeping enough funds available for use by the County when needed. This all must be in keeping with the North Dakota Century Code requirements.
The office is located on the main floor of the Stutsman County Courthouse, at 511 2nd Ave SE, Jamestown. You can reach the office by phone at (701) 252-9036, by fax at (701) 251-6309 or by e-mail at email@example.com. Jessica Alonge is Treasurer with Vanessa Grabinger as Deputy Treasurer.
